For evil to triumph, the good must do nothing

I finally had setup a meeting with the Mayor to help out with the issue about the illegal trikes. This terminal has given a grave threat to my father 3 years ago and a few months ago they started voicing out threats to me, they simply are a barbaric bunch ... apparently someone (obviously the PNP) revealed the information that it was me who did the reports, even after my request of anonymity (our taxes at work). I had to move to Paranaque because of the constant verbal abuse outside, this move will also allow me to continue my work peacefully ... but I was uneasy about everything - My father sent away the maid I left behind to watch out for him (he had a mild stroke, twice now). He is doing fine still.. but I am still worried.

They have moved the municipal office of Taytay to Manila East, a move which caused a lot of complaints from fellow neighbors, my Dad and even the people I grabbed a ride with in that free mini van trip.

Anyways, the municipal office is fresh and the equipment inside were new. Most of the people there looked very suspicious, people running around warning each other of someone coming, etc. The place is new but the people and habits didn't seem to change. I waited up the third floor for about an hour then I finally met the mayor.

After a short talk he referred me to one of his staff that handles the tricycles and we had a long chat. During that meeting I found many holes in law enforcement ... all of which the government was responsible. My recent reports made the raids in our area, but what good are those impounded vehicles if some corrupt official lets them out in some way? I got assurance they will fix this issue, but I can't listen anymore to this. I have tried, this issue will take a long time to finish ... but at least even if it's just a tiny bit of progress, I have accomplished something.
